I Built This City It simply crushes out of the speakers like an electro-funk nail bomb, building up through irresistible choruses of biblical proportions and falsetto hooks. It is essentially the ultimate dancefloor and radio hit. And did i mention the lyrics? “I scattered paving stones, the first time you took me home, I made a street on that first love feeling, I built the airport the following evening…” Baxendale are from London. We at Kompakt fell in love with this extraordinary piece of pop and immediately took action. With Justus Köhncke and Michael Mayer the perfect remix task force was quickly found. Both are well known for their great pop sensibility, especially when it comes to translating pop to the more advanced dancefloors. While Mayer takes the original to an utterly devastating underground hit, Köhncke pours all his hedonism into his mix. The outcome is an awesome piece of future disco. Needless to say that this record is already hammered by all the usual suspects.... We hope yo enjoy this record as much as we do!
