Phong Sui is the brainchild of visual artist Lothar Hempel (one half of the Harvest project Trinkwasser alongside Jörg Burger) who also released on the KOMPAKT mothership as MAGNET. Wintermute got initially released on Jörg Burger's "Leichtes Hören" compilation but really demanded for a proper 12" release. The song is simply too good to be overlooked. Beautiful pop-tinged house - think Roxy Music and Prefab Sprout on acid - including gorgeous remixes by Superpitcher and Burger/Voigt. Definitely one of the big secret weapons in the KOMPAKT catalogue...
